Parking at trailheads is limited in capacity. So, when planning a hike from a popular trailhead, plan to have an alternative hike in case the parking lot is full. See the Norwich Trail Maps for alternatives, or consult Hikes with Views in the Upper Valley for some great trails in neighboring Upper Valley locations.
For group arrivals, please plan to arrive in the minimum number of vehicles in order to prevent congestion at parking areas. Consider using the Huntley Meadow Park-and-Ride, or a spot in Norwich Village (e.g. Marion Cross School when not in session), as a staging point.
When a parking lot is full, remember that parking in the traveled lane of any roadway may earn you a ticket.
Some popular trailheads have neighbors nearby. Please be considerate of their privacy by keeping dogs on leash and voices down until at least 100 yards from the trailhead.
