The Heyl Trail can be walked as as part of a 3.5-mile loop with 670 feet of uphill, starting at the pizza oven parking lot at the bottom of Bragg Hill Road. This route involves walking on town roads. Walk up Bragg Hill , turning left at the power line on the Heyl Trail until it descends from the left at a blue “Heyl Trail” sign, reaching the top of Elm Street. Continue to turn left on Hopson Road, left on Beaver Meadow Road, until you have returned to parking.
The Heyl Trail also can be walked as a 1.2-mile loop with 360 feet of uphill, starting at the Appalachian Trail kiosk on Elm Street via the AT, turning right at the power line and descending the Heyl Trail.
