Two wise minds of Norwich contemplate the new bench that they helped bring to fruition. View towards the new bench
After the 2020 completion of the Brown Schoolhouse Bridge over the Charles Brown Brook, some wise minds thought that it would be nice to provide a place for people to contemplate the beauty of Charles Brown Brook in a location that is accessible to people with limited mobility.
A request for sponsorship on Norwich Lists in the winter of 2021 resulted in sufficient donations to install a bench. The Norwich Trails volunteers thank Patrick and Susan McCoy for funding the bench and Jim Faughnan and Stuart Richards for funding the concrete pad on which it rests. They also thank the Norwich Historical Society for being the purchasing agent for the bench.
Mid-June, Jim Faughnan, Bob Fisken, and Gerry Plummer sited the bench location and installed a concrete pad. After a few days, they stripped the forms and installed the bench.

The Norwich Trails volunteers invite people of all abilities to enjoy the new bench. Parking and turnaround for people with limited mobility is available at the Beaver Meadow Road side of the bridge. Please exercise care entering and leaving the area!

The location of the Brown Schoolhouse Bridge is 2.5 miles up Beaver Meadow Road from the Norwich Inn, opposite from Parcel 5 on this map:
